Mike Trotzke

Mike Trotzke is an immersed technology expert, executive and entrepreneur. He has been passionate about tech since he received his first Commodore VIC-20 at the age of 8. He first discovered the web in 1993 while working on a project for the National Center for Supercomputing Applications at the time they were creating the first graphical web browser.

Since then, he has spent the last 15+ years developing websites and web based applications. While still in college, Mike started his first company, WorldView Multimedia. Serving as CIO, he helped grow that companies client base to include United States House Speaker Denny Hastert, House Budget Committee Chairman Jim Nussle, the Ford Motor Company and a number of other high profile clients. In 2001, Mike co-founded Resite Information Technology– a web based software as a service provider for the multifamily industry. Mike worked as CTO, growing the company and products to serve hundreds of thousands of apartment dwellers in more than 40 states. In 2007, Resite had a successful exit to Virginia based holding company, Dominion Enterprises.

In 2008, Mike co-founded Sproutbox– A new kind of venture capital firm that invests talent in technology startups. He also serves as the CEO of one of SproutBox’s initial companies, Squad, a web based code editor. Mike specializes in entrepreneurship, design, marketing, and open source product development and is a sought after speaker on topics related to web based technology and startup culture.
